How to read this Born in Vietnam counts people born there. It does not count their children born in Australia, so the community is larger than this number. Speak Vietnamese at home counts people of any birthplace. Vietnamese is also spoken at home by many people born in Australia to Vietnamese families, so the Vietnamese count is larger than the number of people born in Vietnam. These are 2021 Census figures, now five years old. The community has likely grown since; we do not show growth because no newer count exists at this level. The ABS slightly adjusts small counts to protect privacy, so treat small numbers as approximate. Areas with fewer than 100 people born in Vietnam are not listed. Each "area" is an ABS statistical area (SA2), which may cover one suburb or several. Areas are listed by the share of residents, not judged or scored.
