Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 May 2026

Draft pending solicitor review. The published policy will replace this draft before public launch and will not change the substantive commitments below.

1. Who we are

SuburbRadar ("we", "us", "our") is operated by the publisher named in the site footer. This Policy explains how we handle personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

2. Information we collect

We deliberately collect as little personal information as possible. The site has no user accounts, no newsletter, and no alert subscriptions today - if that changes, this Policy will be updated first.

  • Aggregate visit data - IP address, country, browser, and pages visited, captured by Cloudflare Web Analytics (cookieless) and Google Analytics 4. GA4 sets cookies to measure visits and the path visitors take through the site; Google is the processor for that data - see Google's data practices for how it handles it.
  • Correspondence - when you email us, we keep the email to respond.

We do not collect sensitive information (as defined in the Privacy Act). We do not buy or rent contact lists.

To opt out of Google Analytics, install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or block third-party cookies from googletagmanager.com / google-analytics.com in your browser's cookie settings. Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies or persistent identifiers, so there is nothing to opt out of there.

3. How we use it

  • To improve the site - understanding which pages are useful and which are confusing.
  • To respond to enquiries and corrections.
  • To meet legal obligations (e.g. tax records, once any affiliate income exists - see the Affiliate Disclosure page).

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

4. Disclosure to third parties

We disclose personal information only in these limited cases:

  • Service providers we rely on to operate the site - hosting (Cloudflare) and analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics, Google Analytics 4). Each handles data only on our instructions and is bound by confidentiality and security obligations.
  • Affiliate partners, once any affiliate links go live, and only when you actively click one. The destination would receive standard referral information from your browser; we would not separately push your details to them.
  • Where required by law - court order, subpoena, or regulator request.

Some service providers may process data outside Australia (notably the United States and the European Union). By using the site you consent to that overseas disclosure for the limited purposes above.

5. Storage and security

The site holds no personal-information database - we don't keep visitor accounts or profiles. Correspondence you send us is kept in our email inbox, hosted on Cloudflare's global infrastructure, and access is restricted to people who need it to respond. We retain it only as long as needed for the purpose collected, or as required by law (whichever is longer).

6. Your rights

You can, at any time, ask us to:

  • Tell you what personal information we hold about you (APP 12).
  • Correct anything inaccurate (APP 13).
  • Delete any correspondence we hold from you.

Email suburbradar@gmail.com from the address on file (subject: Privacy request). We respond within 30 days.

7. Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first - most issues are resolved quickly. If you remain dissatisfied, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

8. Updates

We may update this Policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be flagged on the site. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
