1. Who we are

SuburbRadar ("we", "us", "our") is operated by the publisher named in the site footer. This Policy explains how we handle personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

2. Information we collect

We deliberately collect as little personal information as possible.

• Email address — only if you choose to subscribe to a newsletter, alert, or create an account.
• Account preferences — saved suburbs, alert settings, and similar, where you opt in.
• Aggregate visit data — IP address, country, browser, and pages visited, captured by privacy-respecting analytics. We do not use cookies for analytics.
• Correspondence — when you email us, we keep the email and any account context needed to respond.

We do not collect sensitive information (as defined in the Privacy Act). We do not buy or rent contact lists.

3. How we use it

• To deliver the service you opted into (newsletter, alerts, account features).
• To improve the site — understanding which pages are useful and which are confusing.
• To respond to enquiries and corrections.
• To meet legal obligations (e.g. tax records of affiliate income).

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

4. Disclosure to third parties

We disclose personal information only in these limited cases:

• Service providers we rely on to operate the site — hosting (Cloudflare), email delivery (Resend), analytics (Plausible). Each handles data only on our instructions and is bound by confidentiality and security obligations.
• Affiliate partners, and only when you actively click an affiliate link. The destination receives standard referral information from your browser; we do not separately push your details to them.
• Where required by law — court order, subpoena, or regulator request.

Some service providers may process data outside Australia (notably the United States and the European Union). By using the site you consent to that overseas disclosure for the limited purposes above.

5. Storage and security

Personal information is held in encrypted-at-rest databases hosted on Cloudflare's global infrastructure. Access is restricted to people who need it to operate the service. We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purpose collected, or as required by law (whichever is longer).

6. Your rights

You can, at any time, ask us to:

• Tell you what personal information we hold about you (APP 12).
• Correct anything inaccurate (APP 13).
• Delete your account and associated personal information.
• Stop sending you marketing or alert emails — every such email contains a one-click unsubscribe link.

7. Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first — most issues are resolved quickly. If you remain dissatisfied, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

8. Updates

We may update this Policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be flagged on the site and, where you have an account, notified by email. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
